This is a quick, fun and easy project and is a form of rope bowl making.
There are two variations of shallow plates shown here.
1. A rope plate with machine raw edged fused appliques arranged around one side of the plate.(A selection of fused, already cut out appliques provided with your rope in your kit, to make one large or two smaller plates)
2. A rope plate with an applique fabric bottom with the same fabric intermittently wrapped around the rope on the containers sides.(a selection of fabric circles (not fused) and matching fabric strips is provided with your rope in your kit)
You can choose which kit to purchase and learn to make or if you have some prior experience making rope bowls you can purchase and make both! Either way, both will be taught in class. If you are unable to bring our own machine to the class, make a request when you register and we will set you up with a machine from the shop.
Sewing machine with an open toe foot and a jeans needle fitted.
A cream/beige cotton or polyester thread for making the plate.
Pins and scissors.
