For many folks, their pet is their best friend, their constant companion, and their source of comfort and support. They’re often treated like family members, with a comfy bed to sleep in and lots of love. But what about those furry friends who have not found their forever homes yet?
During the month of August, we’re going to be switching things up just a bit and moving from helping humans to helping animals. Please join us for the Dog Daze of Summer and help us sew pet beds for animals waiting to find their forever homes.
We’ll be having in-store sewing events where we provide all of the materials and all you do is come in and help us put their together! Each of our stores will be working on a slightly different variation of the basic pet bed and we’re hoping to get those projects on our website for you soon.
But in the meantime, please mark your calendars so you’ll remember to join us for one of our in-store events. Although each of these workshops is free and we provide all of the materials, please let your DFW store know that you will be attending ahead of time.

The Hilo store will be donating their completed pet beds to Aloha ‘Ilio Rescue and the Rainbow Friends Animal Sanctuary. Both of these organizations strive to find animals that do not have homes or are being displaced from their homes for any reason caring and responsible forever homes. They are non-profit organizations and need all of the help they can get. To learn more about these organizations, please visit their respective websites.
We will also be collecting completed pet beds for donation at each of our stores. Here’s just an idea of the sizes of beds that would be appropriate for various sizes of animals:
