Costume Contest FAQ

Since we announced our Halloween Costume Contest a few weeks ago, there have been some questions that have popped up from interested parties. If you have any additional questions that are not answered here, please e-mail them to fabricdfw@gotfabric.com.

1) What if I made the costume months ago? Can I still enter?

Ah, this question came from one of the cosplayers that frequent one of the stores. If you read our entry guidelines, there’s nothing that says that you can’t submit a costume that you’ve made for something else. As long as it meets the guidelines, feel free to enter it!

2) We’re planning on a group costume. Can we enter each costume?

You can enter as many times as you want, so yes, you can enter each costume as long as it meets the requirements. So, you can either enter a group picture, and it will be considered as one entry, or you can enter with photos of each costume, and each will be individual. It’s up to you!

3) How exactly does my pet have to make the costume for the Pet category?

Use your imagination. Have you pet “help” in some way and you can totally enter the category. Other versions of this question came up as if the pet has to be wearing the costume…no, not a requirement, but it would be awesome, if a photo of the pet “helping” can be submitted in addition to the costume photo…yes, that would be great!, and if the same costume can be entered in the Adult (or Keiki) category and the Pet category if the pet helped…we’d rather you not. We can’t stop you from entering the same costume in both categories, but for the sake of simplicity, let’s just say you can only enter the costume in one category.

4) Can I enter a costume that someone else made? Like I enter a costume that my daughter made for my grandson?

We’re not trying to make things complicated. If your daughter says that you can enter the costume that she made, feel free to do so. But please make sure you note that in your description.
