Specials of the Evening • Photo Booth • Refreshments

The first 100 people in the door will receive an instant win scratch-off Golden Ticket! Every ticket is a winner – but could yours be a Golden Prize?

Tips and Tricks to Making Your Party Experience Awesome!

• Make sure you RSVP by 6PM on Saturday, June 08, 2019! To RSVP text @dfw24k to 81010 from your mobile device. When you check in at the door when you get to the party, you’ll receive a free gift! And yes, if you’re already a member of our text alert list, you still need to RSVP to get the gift! (Standard messaging rates apply. Please check with your mobile carrier for more details. By sending the RSVP text, you are giving us permission to add you to our text alert list and send periodic text messages.)

• Grab a friend or two to come with you! Maybe someone who is just getting into sewing. Or someone who doesn’t see what the big deal of our anniversary parties are. Everyone’s welcome! (Just a note: to take advantage of all of our amazing sales and specials, each person will need to be a VIC member. It’s free and those who are not currently members can sign up at check out!)

• Get in the spirit! We encourage you to dress in an outfit that embraces the 24k Gold theme that we’ve chosen for this year. Grab your gold Hawaiian bracelets! Or pull on some thick gold (or gold-look-alike) chains and come as an old school rapper. Do you have a gold flapper dress from Halloween or maybe a costume party? The possibilities are endless!

• You may want to carpool. Many of our locations have limited parking, so if you’re all coming to the party, you may want to consider coming in one car.

• In the past, we’ve suggested that you take your time and no need to be there early. Well, this year you may want to swing by a bit earlier than your otherwise would have. Remember, at each of our locations, we’ll be giving Golden Ticket scratch off cards to the first 100 people in the door. Each ticket is an instant winner, so you’ll want to make sure to snag one!

• The lines ebb and flow. If you get to the cutting tables and there are lines, take another spin around the store, make sure you got everything you came for, explore areas that you may not have checked out before, maybe even take a machine you’ve been eyeing for a test drive. Then, when the lines have gone down, head to get your fabric cut.

• To take advantage of the sale prices on fabric, make sure you’re purchasing at least one yard cut. While you can request a smaller piece and we are able to fulfill that request (we cut as small as 1/4 of a yard) you will not be able to get any sales prices with anything smaller than 1 yard.

• Think you might be needing assistance that night? Maybe you’re thinking of finding the perfect fabric for a project or maybe you just don’t know where to start on a new project you’re planning on working on this summer. Or maybe you just have a list of things that you’re going to need help finding. If any of these things is the case, you may want to think about possibly coming earlier on Sunday to get the help you need or maybe brainstorming with a friend ahead of time. We unfortunately don’t be able to guarantee that we’ll be able to provide one-on-one assistance during the party. While we’ll definitely do the best we can to make sure you find everything you need/want, please understand that there are so many of you and so few of us.

• Have a great time! Grab some refreshments. Hop in our photo booth and have your picture taken. Check out some fabric or a machine you’ve had your eye on. Get some ideas for your next project. Enjoy yourself!

Make an Aloha Bag with Us!

When children are entering foster care or are transitioning from one home to another, they are usually given a trash bag to put their belongings in. According to the Friends of the Children’s Justice Center of East Hawaii, children are taken from their homes and placed into foster care for their immediate safety, at no fault of their own, and often remain in care until they become adults. They frequently change foster homes, and when moving, take none of their belongings, or the little that they have is placed into trash bags. Already experiencing sadness, trauma, and anxiety, children relate themselves to trash, like their belongings that are so frequently thrown into trash bags. Jade, a former foster youth, shared that it was hurtful and “it made me feel like I was the trash being carried around”. Kekoa, another former foster youth, agreed with Jade, and supports the idea of every foster child having their own duffel bag. Kekoa stated ”it’s the little things that make the biggest difference.”
Discount Fabric Warehouse has made it a mission to show these children that they’re worth more than just a trash bag. Throughout the year, we encourage folks to make duffle bags and bring them in for donation to organizations that help foster children.
This year, May, June, and July have been designated as Aloha Bag months at our stores. These bags will be kept on-island and in many cases donated to the local Friends of the Children’s Justice Center. There are many ways for you to help and show that you care:
Come in and join us at one of our in-store bag-making parties. These parties are free and we provide all of the materials and instructions. You provide the enthusiasm and time. Learn how to make a duffle bag and help a foster child at the same time!

Pick up a pre-cut kit and make a bag on your own. Instructions will be included. Once you have the bag done, bring it back in for donation!
Have a favorite duffle bag pattern? Make your bag at home and drop if off at any of our Discount Fabric Warehouse locations! We’ll make sure it gets donated!
Donate fabric or DFW gift cards so more bags can be made!
When you bring in a bag to be donated, you’ll receive a $5 DFW gift card as a thank you! (Limit 1 per person. Gift card is only for the first donation. You can donate as many bags as you’d like and can bring bags in at multiple points throughout the drive, but you will only receive one gift card.)

Bag Requirements

While we encourage you to use your favorite duffle bag pattern or experiment with a new one, there are a few minimum requirements that we have for any bag donations:

24”x9” or larger, unused, made with new materials suitable for children ages 4 – 16. We suggest making the bags out of canvas as it’s typically sturdier, however lined cotton will work as well.

Have A Group That Would Like to Get Involved?

We’d love to have your group join in the fun! Girl Scout troops, 4H groups, even Boy Scout groups – or maybe you and some friends want to get together to make some bags! While we can provide the space and machines for your group to sew Aloha Bags, we ask that at least one of the adult participants attend one of our bag parties as staffing may not be available for your group. Please contact the store manager at your local Discount Fabric Warehouse store for more details.

Discount Fabric Warehouse | Revenge of the Warehouse Sale

It’s the Revenge of the Warehouse Sale at DFW Hilo!

Were you unable to make it to the warehouse sale? Did you get home and realize that maybe you should have bought more? Maybe you weren’t up for waiting in the sometimes crazy lines to get your fabric cut.
Well, here’s your chance to get into the warehouse for one more sale! Bill has decided to open the doors one more time to try to get rid of all of the treasures that we still have left! We’re still a bit more overstocked than he’d like.

On Saturday, October 27, 2018, from 9:30AM – 5:30PM, we’ll be opening the doors to our “District” Warehouse, normally closed to the public, for our Huge One-Day Bulk Sale! This isn’t happening at every store. This is only happening at the warehouse across the parking lot from the Hilo Discount Fabric Warehouse store!

We’ve moved some things around, made it easier for you to get to some of the fabrics, added additional samples for fabrics on larger rolls on the shelves, and more!
You’ll still find 50% off savings throughout most of the warehouse on things like muslin, canvas, home decor – including tropical prints- , cotton prints, rayon, ITY, polyester, cotton lawn, eyelet, pre-quilted, rice bag print, fleece, and fashion. There are also batiks, large rolls of curtain and drapery fabric, fish net (great for bags, cover ups and more) in lots of colors and styles, and licensed prints (Pokemon anyone?). And you’ll still have to buy a minimum of 5 yards cut (unless it’s noted that it’s only being sold by the roll or the bolt). The lines are a bit long at times, but we appreciate your patience. Bring a friend (or your kid) and have them wait in line while you keep browsing. Or take another stroll around the warehouse – the line may be shorter by the time you get back to the front. We try our best to keep up with all of you!
Our $1/yd table is amazing! You’ll find all sorts of things on there – including the fantastic white felt that flew off the table last weekend (we’ve uncovered more and it’ll be available on the 27th!). There are lots of solids, prints, many heavier weights, 44″- 60″ and some fashion goods – these all will be on bolts, rolls, and and flat folds, and normally would sell for 3.99 to $10.99 yd! (We’ve added more to the tables! There are 100’s to choose from!)

And, there’s also some new savings that we’re excited to tell you about! Here are just some of the new finds that you’ll see:

54″ tropical home dec – prints and solids! These are seconds and are being sold as-is, but still completely usable and awesome!
Flannel Prints (flat fold) – $2/yd – sold by the piece only
Cotton Prints (on bolt, selected prints only) – dots, florals, and more – $2/yd – min. 5 yds cut
Denim (on rolls) – $2/yd – min. 5 yds. cut
Plus patterns for only $0.50 and fur coats for $5! There will be additional selections of notions available as well as more dish towels!
Not looking for 5 yards or more? Well, take a look anyway. Throughout the warehouse you’ll find bolts and rolls that are under 5 yards for the same amazing sale prices!
If you have any questions about our warehouse sale, please e-mail fabricdfw@gotfabric.com. No, we can’t tell you exactly what will be on sale, nor can we tell you whether or not there will be a specific fabric on sale, but we can give you general information if you need it.
See you Saturday!
Discount Fabric Warehouse | Warehouse Sale 2018

DFW Hilo’s One-Day Bulk Warehouse Sale is Back!

It’s time again for the Discount Fabric Warehouse Bulk Sale!

On Saturday, October 13, 2018, from 9AM – 6PM, we’ll be opening the doors to our “District” Warehouse, normally closed to the public, for our Huge One-Day Bulk Sale!

This isn’t happening at every store. This is only happening at the warehouse across the parking lot from the Hilo Discount Fabric Warehouse store!

For the past several years, we’ve done this sale, with many of you taking the time to come by and check out what we have. Folks save up all year to come and “splurge” on fabrics and notions, along with other “treasures” such as toys, and other fun things that have popped up over the years, and take advantage of the 50% or more savings.

Check out this letter from our fearless leader (store owner), Bill:

Aloha My Sewing Friends!

This year’s Annual BULK Warehouse Sale promises to be the BEST one we have had in a long time! But before I give you some of the details of this ONE DAY event, I want to mention that this sale, as great as it is, is not for everyone. For starters, it is a bulk sale, the min. we will cut is 5 yards. If you find a bolt, roll or flat fold with less than 5 yards, of course you can purchase that smaller amount, but if we cut it, it’s a 5 yard minimum with some fabrics being sold by the entire bolt or roll. This sale is held in our big warehouse normally closed to the public and is not the time to shop if you require a lot of assistance. Staff will be there to help you get your fabric to the register, but no one will be available to help you match thread colors, etc. Not the general great service that you would expect from our store on a daily basis – this is a warehouse sale. Although there will be items offered not found in the store, not everything that is in the store is in the warehouse.

Now that that’s out of the way, I am super EXCITED to tell you what is different about this year’s sale! For starters there is a huge group of fabric priced at $1 a yd! Lots of solids, prints, many heavier weights, 44″- 60″ and some fashion goods – these all will be on bolts, rolls, and and flat folds, and normally would sell for 3.99 to $10.99 yd! (we’re not done pulling fabrics for the sale yet, but there will be 100’s to choose from!)

Notion Commotion! Lots of fun and exciting notions all priced to disappear! Who knows what you’ll find?

50% off on bulk purchases (min 5 yd cut) of muslin, canvas, home decor, cotton prints, rayon, ITY, polyester, cotton lawn, eyelet, pre-quilted, rice bag print, fleece, fashion, and home decorfabrics – including tropical prints. It’s like many of you have come to expect in past years, but this year’s selection is better! We have lots of great new items including batiks, home décor including large rolls of curtain and drapery fabric, fish net (great for bags, cover ups and more) in lots of colors and styles.
Bulk notions are back with bags of buttons, bulk zippers at 5/$1, bulk lace trim and more! Lots of new surprise treasures! All price to clear fast!

I hope you will come by on Saturday, October 13th and help us clear our warehouse. I’m letting so much go, so low, lower than past sales, that hopefully we will sell the warehouse inventory down to where we won’t be able to have this sale this next year! Be part of one Last Great Crazy One Day Only Bulk Warehouse Sale!

-Bill

P.S. Bring your “big”car, van, SUV, or truck you might need the room! See you then!

If you have any questions about our warehouse sale, please e-mail fabricdfw@gotfabric.com. No, we can’t tell you exactly what will be on sale, nor can we tell you whether or not there will be a specific fabric on sale, but we can give you general information if you need it.
See you Saturday!
